The Solution is Pure Defender Sanitizer

The Solution is Pure Defender Sanitizer

Health Canada Approved hand sanitizer

The price that you are paying for the ethyl-alcohol based hand sanitizer is probably similar to the price that Pure Defender products may be made available to you. Please ask your sales representative to discuss our pricing protocols. Our primary goal is to make safe hand sanitizers and disinfectants available to everyone.

In order to allow a greater flexibility as to use, we sell our Pure Defender product in a concentrated strength. The concentrated version is actually characterised as a disinfectant (more powerful than a hand sanitizer). Our concentrate can be diluted on a two to one ratio and it will still exceed the performance of an ethyl-alcohol based hand sanitizer. Thus, a litre of concentrate will make 2 litres of hand sanitizer. But, if you have a need for greater strength, then you apply the concentrate without dilution or at a lesser dilution rate.

Our Pure Defender products have been approved as safe for use by humans and animals. Our Pure Defender products are food safe. Both Health Canada and the FDA have approved our product. Our DIN# in Canada is 02362546. Products do not get a DIN# from Health Canada unless they meet Health Canada’s requirements and actual approval is given. In addition to the product itself being approved by Health Canada, the actual production facilities, the cleanliness and consistency in techniques and protocols of production must meet Health Canada rules in order to receive a DIN#.

Please refer to our MSDS sheet and Technical Information Sheet. Our active ingredients are 99.50% electrolyzed water (water with a charge – this carries the active ingredient and assists in the stabilization process) and 0.046% hypochlorous acid (NOT hydrochloric acid – the content is hypochlorous acid – these are unfortunately similar names but are entirely different things). Then there is 0.004% of additional ingredients (all human, animal and food safe) – these additional ingredients are what complete the stabilization process.

The truly active ingredient is Hypochlorous acid. Hypochlorous acid is actually the acid that our bodies naturally produce as a natural defence to germs, viruses, etc. All of us create it. Hypochlorous acid is used extensively in hospitals. But one of the historical problems with Hypochlorous acid is it was not stable. Thus, hospitals create it in their own facilities and use it promptly. Historically, the effectiveness started to fall off after a very short time. But the chemists that we have been working with have managed to stabilize the effectiveness. It now has an effective lifespan of a year provided it is kept in opaque containers. Sunlight is not a friend to the solution and will negatively impact on the longevity of the product. We bottle our product in opaque containers – so the sunlight is not an issue.

The Pure Defender sanitizer product (the diluted product) is actually more effective than 70% alcohol AND it is safe. As mentioned in this website, all alcohols are toxic. The Methyl alcohol sanitizers have now been banned. The Ethyl alcohol sanitizers are also toxic but our bodies are able to process it without too much harm as long as the ingress of the alcohol into our body is sufficiently slow that our livers can deal with the alcohol toxicity. But the problem is we are now being exposed on a day-to-day basis and repeatedly every day to the alcohol. The immediate problem is alcohol dries the hands and causes skin problems. But there is a longer term and more substantial problem of the continued exposure to the alcohol. Put simply, our bodies are not equipped for the continuing exposure that we are now being subjected to. This is particularly true for those people with compromised immune systems (the elderly, the ill, children, pregnant women, breast-feeding women, etc.).

Both the Pure Defender disinfectant (the concentrated version of our product) and the Pure Defender Sanitizer are totally safe for humans, animals and food. AND the Pure Defender products achieve an effectiveness level that exceeds the effectiveness of alcohol-based products.

To learn more about our product in-depth, please click here. It is a very good list and scientific description of “pro’s” and “con’s” of various disinfectants. The document was prepared by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). It was last updated in May 2019. In particular, go to the portion of the document that reviews the various disinfecting agents that are in use. It describes how they each work and describes the “pro’s” and “con’s” in nice boring (but scientifically accurate) detail. The document is long, but the product comparisons are not too long. Our product is in the Hypochlorous acid section.

Our customers have a choice of the containers that we can provide product in. We can provide the product in 1 gallon (4 litre) containers, 5 gallon (20 litre) containers or bigger if you wish. Your choice on this. Most customers find that their staff prefers the 1 gallon (4 litre) containers because a 1 gallon (4 litre) container is easy to lift and use. By way of clarity, a 1 gallon (4 litre) container is the same size as a large milk container. Obviously, the choice is totally what works best for you.

One last point. Alcohol based sanitizers are 70% or more alcohol. They are flammable. The risk is obvious. The potential impact on insurance and insurance rates is also obvious. Our Hypochlorous acid product is 99.50% electrolyzed water. It will never cause a fire. In fact, you could use our product to extinguish a fire.

Thank you for looking at Pure Defender products. We hope we will be able to assist you in the very near future to make Pure Defender products available for the safety of your family, your staff, your customers and your business.
